Australian’s like the names: Max, Jessie, Molly, Sam and Jack for dogs. And they prefer to call their felines: Oscar, Max, Tiger, Sam and Misty.
And in Japan the top two dog names are: Choco and Marron while cats are most often called, Momo and Leo. It is interesting that the Japanese names are a combination of human names and food. Momo means peach, but it is also used as a nickname for young girls. Choco is a popular chocolate cookie dessert and Marron is the name of a character from an animated series called, Dragon Ball.
It is interesting to see the similarities and differences worldwide when it comes to naming our cats and dogs. Do you have a pet with a popular name from another country?
